Formula 1 returns this weekend with the running of the Austrian Grand Prix. Coming off of what can only be described as a poor showing in Canada, McLaren Honda are looking to the comprehensive aerodynamics update to the MP4-30 to bring improvement. The updates are significant and stop just short of a B spec. car. They include new wings, a new floor, and a new short nose. From Honda’s side we can hope for reliability updates but it isn’t clear exactly what those are at the moment although we do know they spent two development tokens just before the Canadian Grand Prix (with more promised to be spent soon).
Elsewhere on the grid, it goes without saying where Mercedes will be however this is a circuit that should also suit the F14 T of Vettel and Raikkonen well so expect a strong challenge from Ferrari. Also, Williams are said to have a comprehensive upgrade package for their FW37 will have them targeting Ferrari.
