Formula 1 returns to Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez this weekend for the Mexican Grand Prix. Featuring the the highest elevation of any Formula 1 circuit the cars will have the unlikely combination of high downforce setups and some of the highest speeds seen all year due to the thin air. The circuit also has the distinctions of passing through the center of a stadium and is the only one to have post-race Park Ferme away from pit lane (in said stadium). Those attributes along with a raucous crowd getting ready to celebrate Día de los Muertos are why Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez has become a favorite Grand Prix venue.
As Max Verstappen continues to put in superlative performances and break records, Red Bull’s focus is shifting to push Sergio Perez toward clinching second in the Drivers’ Championship. As the Mexican driver has struggled the second half of the season, he will be motivated to do well at his home Grand Prix. On the AlphaTauri side of the garage Daniel Ricciardo will be looking to hone is race craft after his injury while Yuki Tsunoda seems to be getting the most out of the car.
Elsewhere on the grid, look for this to be a general ranking of team performance coming into the race weekend:
1. Red Bull
2. Mercedes
3. McLaren
4. Ferrari
5. Alpine
6. Aston Martin
7. Williams
8. AlphaTauri
9. Alfa Romeo
10. Haas
