F1 has landed in Sao Paulo Brazil for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Having played witness a to myriad of Formula 1 history over the years, the Interlagos circuit holds a special place in the hearts of fans and drivers as it packs several highly technical turns and substantial elevation change into a short distance. It also holds the distinction of being one of two counterclockwise circuits on the F1 calendar. This weekend will feature F1’s sprint qualifying format for the final time in 2023.
The records continue to tumble for Max Verstappen as he collected another win in Mexico and looks set to do the same in Sao Paulo. The team’s focus is on Sergio Preez’ battle for 2nd in the driver’s championship which is uncomfortably tight after his DNF in Mexico. Look for him to finish just outside the podium places. On the AlphaTauri side of the garage, after a stunning race in Mexico,to Daniel Ricciardo has put Perez on notice that he is waiting in the wings if Perez fails to deliver. Look for one car to finish in the points.
Elsewhere on the grid, look for this to be a general ranking of team performance coming into the race weekend:
1. Red Bull
2. Mercedes
3. McLaren
4. Ferrari
5. Alpine
6. Aston Martin
7. Williams
8. AlphaTauri
9. Alfa Romeo
10. Haas
