As the cars race into the sunset this weekend at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the sun will also set on the 2023 Formula 1 season. Built on a man-made island and with a hotel straddling the track, Yas Marina is said to be the costliest circuit to construct on the Formula 1 calendar. In 2023 Abu Dhabi will become the country to host the final race of the F1 season the most times, 12, surpassing Australia at 11.
Both Red Bull and Honda couldn’t have asked for a better outcome to the 2023 season having won both driver and constructor championships with record after record tumbling in their wake. With their foot on the gas all the way to the end, look for Max to be the most likely candidate for the win with Sergio to be just outside the podium places. On the AlphaTauri side of the garage one car may make it into the points as they continue to understand late season upgrades to the car.
Elsewhere on the grid, look for this to be a general ranking of team performance coming into the race weekend:
1. Red Bull
2. Ferrari
3. Mercedes
4. McLaren
5. Alpine
6. Aston Martin
7. Williams
8. AlphaTauri
9. Alfa Romeo
10. Haas
Abu Dhabi marks the end of our 2023 Formula 1 Grand Prix coverage. On behalf of TOV/ TOV Motorsports I would like to sincerely express thanks and gratitude to everyone who reads these posts and participates in the discussions; 2023 has been another solid year of F1 conversation.
