In a change from the norm, this year F1 will hold one of its most anticipated races before the summer break: the Belgian Grand Prix. Set in the Ardennes forest, Spa Francorchamps is arguably one of the most loved circuits on the calendar. High-speed turns like Eau Rouge & Raidillon, the beautiful scenery, and unpredictable weather add to its mystique. This year the Belgian Grand prix weekend will contain a Sprint race for the first time.
Red Bull come to Spa having just accomplished an incredible feat in winning 12 straight Grands Prix in a row, beating McLaren’s old record. Incidentally, both the McLaren and the Red Bull were powered by Honda. Look for Red Bull to make it 13 wins in a row, creating a new record that also might not be bested for decades. On the AlphaTauri side of the garage look for Daniel Ricciardo to continue to settle into his new role and be hungry to prove himself with Yuki Tsunoda right there with him.
Elsewhere on the grid, look for this to be a general ranking of team performance coming into the race weekend:
1. Red Bull
2. McLaren
3. Mercedes
4. Ferrari
5. Aston Martin
6. Alpine
7. Williams
8. AlphaTauri
9. Haas
10. Alfa Romeo
