F1 has arrived in Sao Paulo Brazil for the 50th running of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Having played witness a to myriad of Formula 1 history over the years, the Interlagos circuit holds a special place in the hearts of fans and drivers as it packs several highly technical turns and substantial elevation change into a short distance. It also holds the distinction of being one of two counterclockwise circuits on the F1 calendar. This weekend will feature F1’s sprint qualifying format for the final time in 2022.
Red Bull will enter the weekend with the weight of the world lifted off their shoulders after they have officially done it all in 2022: driver’s championship, constructor’s championship, and most wins for a driver in a season. Look for one car to be on the podium and the other very close behind. On the AlphaTauri side of the garage Brazil has been a happy hunting ground for the sister team. Look for one car in the points as they battle Haas for 8th in the constructor’s standings.
Elsewhere on the grid, look for this to be a general ranking of team performance coming into the race weekend:
1. Red Bull
2. Mercedes ↑
3. Ferrari ↓
4. Alpine
5. McLaren
6. Aston Martin
7. Alfa Romeo
8. AlphaTauri ↑
9. Haas ↓
10. Williams
