F1 returns to Sochi this weekend where McLaren Honda hope to 'put all the pieces together’ (meaning chassis, power unit, strategy, and drivers) to achieve their best result of the season by having both cars earn points. This will be made challenging by Sochi’s long straights. Fernando Alonso is said to be feeling better each day following his accident several weeks ago.
Elsewhere on the grid we can expect much the same battles up front between Mercedes and Ferrari with the latter having some new aero parts to try on their car. Keep an eye on Red Bull as they’ve quietly been turning in strong performances. Williams continues to disappoint but they’re bound to have a good result at some point and they’re banking on Sochi for that turn of luck.
