As the F1 season winds down the teams visit Interlagos in Sao Paolo this weekend for the 25th consecutive running of the Brazilian Grand Prix there. Having witnessed a good deal of Formula 1 history over the years, the track holds a special place in the hearts of the drivers.
At McLaren Honda we can expect a slightly better performance than we saw in Mexico as the cars won’t be as starved for air due to altitude. Interlagos will still be quite a challenge, though, despite the latest engine and aero upgrades, all of which seem to be making a positive difference.
Elsewhere on the grid we can expect more of the same from Mercedes and Ferrari; however, Lewis Hamilton’s health may be a variable as he is getting over a persistent fever. We can expect Williams to be back in the mix as their Mercedes power should provide an advantage at this circuit. As with several other Grands Prix this season Red Bull is a wildcard as at least one of the cars will be fitting Renault’s comprehensively upgraded Power Unit.
